The Department of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Liberal Studies is a central pillar of Naivasha Technical and Vocational College (NTVC). We are dedicated to delivering transformative technical and vocational education that meets the demands of the modern Kenyan economy.

Departmental Objectives

To achieve our vision of producing ethically driven and highly effective professionals, the Department of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Liberal Studies is guided by the following strategic objectives:

1. To Implement Competency-Based Training (CBET) To provide high-quality, practical training that strictly adheres to TVET CDACC standards, ensuring every graduate possesses the specific technical competencies required by the modern workforce.

2. To Foster Innovation and Entrepreneurship To move beyond job-seeking by equipping trainees with the entrepreneurial mindset and business acumen necessary to start, manage, and grow their own successful enterprises.

3. To Bridge the Gap Between Academia and Industry To maintain strong linkages with industry partners for mentorship, industrial attachments, and real-world case studies, ensuring our curriculum remains relevant to current market needs.

4. To Promote Holistic Professional Development To integrate Liberal Studies (communication, ethics, and critical thinking) into all technical courses, producing well-rounded graduates who are socially conscious and capable of ethical leadership.

5. To Enhance Digital Literacy in Business To ensure all trainees are proficient in modern digital tools, software, and e-business strategies relevant to Supply Chain, HR, and Social Development sectors.

Our Three Specialized Pillars (Courses)

Explore your future across our three specialized areas. All courses are examined by TVET CDACC and offered at Certificate (Level 5) and Diploma (Level 6) levels.

1. Social Work & Community Development (six modules each module going for 3 months)

• Focus: Learn to advocate for positive change and build stronger, more resilient communities.
• Target: Future Community Mobilizers, Social Workers, and NGO Project Officers.

2. Supply Chain Management (seven modules each module going for 3 months)

• Focus: Master the logistics, procurement, and planning skills needed to optimize business operations globally and locally.
• Target: Future Procurement Officers, Store Managers, and Logistics Coordinators.

3. Human Resource Management (five modules each module going for 3 months)

• Focus: Become a strategic leader in people management, focusing on talent development, employee relations, and organizational growth.
• Target: Future HR Administrators, Recruiters, and Office Managers.
